- What are the ad’s strengths?
The ads strengths are the video that is the focal point of the ad, and the contrasting colors is uses. The blue and the red look great together and the black background and white text also go well together.
- What are the ad’s weaknesses?
The long text is probably this ad’s greatest weakness as it is quite overwhelming to take in. They could have easily cut out a lot of the text to make it easier to read.
- What is the ad trying to accomplish with its design?
Through the ads design, it is trying to use the new Transformers movie to bring the viewer to their nearby Sonic to by their new slush. It uses the face of Optimus Prime turning to the slush to grab the viewer’s attention and get them to stop and view the entire post. The dark colors used in the ad help to strengthen this by grabbing your attention as your scrolling through the white background of your newsfeed.
- How has the design used: Composition, Fundamentals, Contrast, Lines, Layout, Golden Section, Rule of Thirds, Not Half, Swiss Grid or Custom Grids?
Colors and contrast are used the most, the colors go well together and help to grab your attention. Also, the stark contrast between the first and second images also grabs your attention as well.
- What metrics (likes, shares, re-tweets, etc.) will be used to determine if the ad is successful?
The number of views of the video, shares, comments, and likes will be used to measure the effectiveness of the post. Additionally, the number of slushes sold on Thursday will also indicate the effectiveness of the ad.
